QUITMAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed), Students in the Quitman School District are out of class this week for Fall Break.
All Quitman School District schools are closed from Monday, October 12, through Friday, October 16, 2026. The break covers every school in the district, including Quitman High School, Quitman Junior High, Quitman Upper Elementary and Quitman Lower Elementary.
When Students Go Back
Classes start again on Monday, October 19, 2026. However, that day will look a little different.
The district says Monday will be a 66% day for students. That means students will attend school for part of the day instead of a full day. Parents should check with their child’s school for the exact dismissal time.
Parent Teacher Conferences Set for Monday
Monday, October 19, is also Parent Conference Day. Parent Teacher Conferences will take place from 2 to 6 p.m.
These meetings give parents a chance to sit down with teachers and talk about how their child is doing in class. Parents can ask about grades, behavior and ways to help at home. In addition, conferences are a good time to meet teachers face to face and build a stronger partnership for the rest of the school year.
Staying Connected
Families who have questions about the break or about conferences can reach out to their child’s school directly. Parents can also follow updates from Quitman High School, the Quitman Junior High PTO, Quitman Upper Elementary and Quitman Lower Elementary on Facebook.
Queen City Newsfeed wishes all Quitman students, teachers and staff a safe and restful Fall Break.
