MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – Jarquez Hunter, a Neshoba Central High School alumnus, has signed with the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad.
Hunter joins the Saints after being cut from the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad.
The former Rocket joins New Orleans as the team deals with injuries in the backfield. Lead running back Travis Etienne is on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, and Alvin Kamara is working through a back issue.
Hunter is a candidate to be elevated to the Saints’ active roster ahead of Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Hunter was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round, 117th overall, in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Auburn. He is in his second season.
