Two Mississippi lottery players win $2 million each in back-to-back drawings

JACKSON, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) — Two lottery players in Mississippi each claimed $2 million prizes this week, with wins coming on consecutive nights in the Mega Millions and Powerball drawings.

On Tuesday, a Mega Millions ticket purchased at the Pilot Travel Center in Moss Point matched all five white balls to win $1 million. Because the ticket included the automatic Megaplier, the prize doubled to $2 million — the largest Mega Millions win in Mississippi since the game’s upgrade in April 2025.

The following night, a Powerball ticket bought at Mike’s Food & Gas in Coldwater matched all five white balls for a $1 million prize. The player had added the $1 Power Play option, doubling their winnings to $2 million.

Mississippi Lottery officials said both prizes highlight how optional add-ons can significantly increase payouts.
