Leland Police investigate the scene of Friday night’s mass shooting on N. Main St.

The FBI says a fifth suspect has been arrested in connection with the mass shooting that happened after Leland High School’s homecoming on Saturday. The shooting left six people dead and 10 others wounded.

Agents said 33-year-old Terrogernal S. Martin was taken into custody today, October 14, and charged with capital murder. His bond was set at $1 million.

The arrest follows four earlier arrests announced Monday, Oct. 13:

  • 29-year-old Teviyon L. Powell — charged with capital murder

  • 29-year-old William Bryant — charged with capital murder

  • 25-year-old Morgan Lattimore — charged with capital murder

  • 44-year-old Latoya A. Powell — charged with attempted murder

Authorities said more arrests are possible as the investigation continues.

The gunfire broke out on Saturday, Oct. 11, in Leland’s Main Street area shortly after the homecoming game. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute among several individuals.
