Mississippi Highway Safety Office Opens Grant Applications for Traffic Safety Programs

JACKSON — The Mississippi Office of Highway Safety is accepting grant applications to fund traffic safety programs across the state, with a deadline of Jan. 30.

The funding is available to law enforcement agencies, state agencies, community organizations and academic institutions working to reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities. Grants will support initiatives focused on impaired driving enforcement, occupant protection, traffic services and public education.

Eligible program areas include alcohol-only DUI enforcement, impaired driving involving alcohol and drugs, seat belt and child restraint use, police traffic services, traffic records and data systems, and youth and adult traffic safety education programs.

Officials said the grants are intended to strengthen statewide efforts to improve roadway safety through enforcement, education and data-driven strategies.

Additional information and application materials are available through the Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s website.
