Meridian Blues name Robby Atkinson as public address announcer

MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Meridian Blues Baseball organization has announced the addition of veteran broadcaster Robby Atkinson as its new public address announcer for the upcoming season.

The team shared the news in an official release, highlighting Atkinson’s more than 25 years of experience in broadcasting and live announcing across the region.

Atkinson’s background includes work with Lamar athletics, Meridian Community College and Mississippi State University. He currently serves as operations manager for Meridian Media Group and is a familiar voice on local radio, co-hosting “Mornings in Meridian” on 102.1 WALT and serving as the midday host on Q101.

Team officials said Atkinson’s experience and recognizable voice will help enhance the game-day atmosphere for fans.

“We are excited to have Robby helping bring the Meridian Blues game-day atmosphere to life this season,” the organization said in its announcement.

The Meridian Blues welcomed Atkinson to the team as preparations continue for the new season.
