LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. — An ongoing investigation by the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit led deputies to seize illegal drugs and firearms during the execution of a search warrant Friday.
Lauderdale County sheriff’s deputies and narcotics agents served a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of Powell Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 15, 2026. Authorities said approximately one ounce of methamphetamine and several firearms believed to be stolen were recovered.
Coby Stewart, 44, was arrested at the residence and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm. Bond was set at $100,000.
Officials said Stewart also had an outstanding bench warrant for his arrest and is being held without bail on that charge.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department said the investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
