WAYNE COUNTY – A 17-year-old girl was killed Monday in a crash on U.S. Highway 45 in Wayne County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
MHP said the crash happened around 3:09 p.m. June 22.
According to troopers, a 2009 Nissan Murano driven by a 17-year-old female from Richton was traveling north on U.S. Highway 45 when it collided with a 2023 Freightliner semi-truck traveling south.
The semi-truck was driven by 29-year-old Jimmy D. Mobley Grace Jr., of De Kalb.
Troopers said Grace was not injured in the crash.
The 17-year-old sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
