Neshoba County Law Enforcement Agencies Launch Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign

PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) — The Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office and the Philadelphia Police Department announced they will participate in the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign from August 17 through September 7, 2026.

Both agencies shared the announcement on their respective social media pages this week, calling on residents to make responsible choices before getting behind the wheel.

The campaign centers on removing impaired drivers from local roadways. Officers with both departments said the effort is about more than enforcement. They want drivers to plan ahead and avoid getting behind the wheel after drinking.

“This campaign focuses on removing impaired drivers from our roadways and, more importantly, encouraging everyone to make responsible choices and plan for a safe ride home,” the agencies said in their joint social media statement.

Law enforcement officials urged anyone who plans to drink to designate a sober driver, call for a ride, or make other arrangements to get home safely rather than risk driving impaired.

The Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office and the Philadelphia Police Department both emphasized that keeping impaired drivers off the road is a shared responsibility between law enforcement and the community.

“Let’s work together to keep our roads and our community safe,” the statement read.

The three week campaign will run through Labor Day weekend, a period historically associated with increased impaired driving arrests and alcohol related crashes across Mississippi. Drivers can expect additional patrols throughout Neshoba County during the campaign window.

Anyone with questions about the campaign can contact the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office or the Philadelphia Police Department directly.
