I-20/59 Lane Closures Set for Tuesday Night Sign Repair in Meridian

MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) — The Mississippi Department of Transportation announced earlier today that it will implement temporary overnight lane closures on I-20/59 in Lauderdale County starting Tuesday night.

Crews will close the right lane of I-20/59 eastbound, the eastbound off-ramp at Exit 150, and the left lane of I-20/59 westbound between the 65th Avenue bridge and the SR 19 bridge in Meridian. The closures will run from 10 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, September 16.

MDOT crews will use the closure window to remove and repair a damaged sign truss along the interstate.

Drivers traveling through the area overnight should slow down and watch for roadside crews and equipment. MDOT encourages motorists to check MDOTtraffic.com, download the MDOT Traffic mobile app, or follow @MississippiDOT on Facebook and X for real-time updates on the work.
