CAMDEN, Ark. — Mississippi Army National Guard aviators recently helped fight a wildfire near Camden, Arkansas, deploying a CH-47F Chinook helicopter and a five-soldier crew to support response efforts.

According to the Mississippi National Guard, the crew assisted with the Bunker Fire alongside aviation teams from the Arkansas and Oklahoma National Guard, as well as state and federal partners.
Mississippi soldiers flew 50 sorties over 13.5 flight hours and dropped more than 77,000 gallons of water on the wildfire.
The Mississippi National Guard said the mission highlighted its ability to respond quickly across state lines and provide aviation support during emergencies.
The operation was part of a broader multi-agency effort to help contain the fire and protect nearby communities.
