PELAHATCHIE, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Federal and tribal police need your help to find a missing Choctaw man. Kendrick Jefferson’s family has not seen him since July 2025.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs Missing and Murdered Unit is leading the search. The Choctaw Police Department is also on the case. They say he was last known to be in Pelahatchie, in Rankin County.
Also, the unit is offering a reward of up to $5,000. The money is for a tip that leads them to Jefferson.
What we know
Jefferson is a member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, the BIA says. His case page lists his birthday as Aug. 20, 1991. So he is now 35.
His family last saw him in July 2025. At the time, he was believed to be working on chicken farms near Pelahatchie. The reward flyer also says he could be in the Choctaw Reservation area.
A state database at Mississippi State University lists his case as open. He is also listed in NamUs, the national database for missing people.
What he looks like
Jefferson has black hair and brown eyes. The BIA case page lists his height as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches. However, the reward flyer says he is 5 feet 10 inches tall. He weighs about 180 to 200 pounds.
He also has tattoos that could help someone spot him:
- A spider on his left hand.
- The name “Katrina” on his forearm.
- A small cross behind his right ear.
