JONES COUNTY – A 65-year-old man was arrested Monday after Jones County narcotics investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Rose Lane, according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Department.
Jessie Herrin was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a weapon by a felon.

JCSD Narcotics Division Sgt. Chase Smith said investigators began looking into the residence after receiving complaints from the community about possible illegal drug activity.
Smith said agents were able to confirm that known drug offenders were frequenting the home and later established probable cause for a search warrant.
During the search, investigators said they found baggies, 2.3 grams of methamphetamine and an assortment of bladed weapons.
Authorities said Herrin is a convicted felon from Texas stemming from an aggravated assault conviction and is prohibited from possessing the weapons.
Herrin is being held at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility on a $10,000 bond set in Jones County Justice Court.
The charges are allegations, and Herrin is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
