MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – A small aircraft experienced a nose gear collapse after landing at Key Field on Wednesday, but no injuries were reported, according to the Meridian Airport Authority.
The incident involved a Cessna 210, a six-seat, single-engine airplane. Airport officials said the plane’s nose gear folded upon landing, prompting a rapid response from the Air National Guard Fire Department.
The fire crew responded swiftly and effectively, clearing the runway within an hour. Officials noted that the pilot managed the situation well and that the airport’s crash response team performed in a timely and professional manner.
Airport representatives described the event as “very uneventful,” emphasizing that safety protocols were followed and no damage beyond the nose gear malfunction was reported.
The aircraft has since been removed from the runway, and normal operations at Key Field have resumed.
