Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) has issued an urgent call for platelet donors, citing a critical shortage that could impact cancer patients, trauma victims, and others in need of lifesaving transfusions.
To help boost donations, MBS is offering a $50 Visa gift card to all platelet donors as a thank-you for their lifesaving support.
“We’re in a serious shortage,” said an MBS spokesperson. “Every platelet donation can make a major difference for someone in a medical emergency or undergoing treatment.”
Donors can give platelets at the following Mississippi Blood Services centers:
