Mayor Percy Bland – 30-Day Address
Good Day Meridian!
Today marks thirty days since I took office as your mayor, and I want to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve already accomplished—together.
First, we made public safety our top priority. We’ve increased patrol presence, improved communication across law enforcement agencies, and already seen meaningful progress. The community can feel it—and so can our officers.
We’ve also built a renewed spirit of cooperation between the mayor’s office and the city council. We’re not just working side by side—we’re working as one team, focused on real results for Meridian.
City employees across every department are feeling a new energy and purpose. Morale is up. Pride is back. And we’re making it known—your work matters.
Most importantly, we’ve been present—in neighborhoods, in schools, at community events. Leadership isn’t about staying behind a desk—it’s about showing up, listening, and leading by example.
These first thirty days are just the beginning. We ran on action, and now—we’re delivering.
Thank you, Meridian. Let’s keep going. God bless you and God Bless Meridian, Mississippi.
