LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – A Lauderdale County grand jury handed down 160 indictments during its August 2025 term, according to a report filed Thursday with the Circuit Court.
The panel, which met for three days, heard testimony from 25 witnesses. Jurors returned 160 true bills of indictment and issued 10 no bills, the report said.
As part of its duties, the grand jury also toured the Lauderdale County Detention Facility. Jurors described the jail as clean and safe but outdated. Their recommendations included replacing tower pod windows and upgrading the seating in the grand jury room.
The report was signed Aug. 27 by foreperson Rebecca Coffman and filed Aug. 28 with Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk Donna Jill Johnson.
