Mississippi troopers recognize Autism Awareness Month, emphasize compassion in community interactions

The Mississippi State Trooper’s Association is recognizing Autism Awareness Month by encouraging patience, understanding and compassion in interactions with individuals, families and communities across the state.

In a social media post, the association said the observance is about more than awareness and serves as a reminder of the importance of responding with care and understanding.

“Today is about more than awareness — it’s about showing patience, choosing understanding, and leading with compassion in every interaction,” the association said.

The association also announced that Autism Awareness-themed shirts will be available next week through the Mississippi State Troopers store.

Additional details about the shirts were not immediately released.
