MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center celebrated its nursing staff Friday with an appreciation event during National Nurses Week, recognizing individuals and teams for their dedication and hard work. The morning event, held at the medical center, included a full breakfast, awards, and gifts for participating staff.
Chief Nursing Officer Rick Johnson highlighted the importance of acknowledging the commitment of their nurses, stating the ceremony was a “nice way to show appreciation of the hard work their staff does, and help inspire other nurses on staff.”
Among the accolades presented were the Nurse of the Year, Nurse Leader Award, and various team awards. The hospital also recognized recipients of the DAISY Award, a national program that honors nurses for their extraordinary compassion, courage, and integrity in patient care.
Baptist Anderson participates in the DAISY Awards, joining numerous other hospitals and medical centers nationwide in recognizing nurses who consistently demonstrate excellence in their practice and a commitment to exceptional patient care. According to the program, DAISY Award recipients are registered nurses who exemplify outstanding nursing values in every situation.
The celebration underscored the vital role nurses play in healthcare and aimed to foster a culture of appreciation and inspiration within the nursing profession at Baptist Anderson. The event took place at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 9th.
