MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Meridian Police Department is rolling out a new look with the addition of five 2025 Dodge Durango Pursuit vehicles to its fleet — the first step in a planned overhaul.
“We’re phasing from black and white to all black,” Acting Captain Dareall Thompson said.
The Durango Pursuit model, designed specifically for law enforcement, comes equipped with all-wheel drive, a heavy alternator, police-tuned suspension and the latest technology.
“As with all of our patrol vehicles, they are equipped with laptops, which makes it easier and quicker for officers to get information to serve the community,” Thompson said.
The department hopes the new additions are just the beginning.
“We hope the City Council will approve funding for more vehicles to accommodate our growing police department,” Thompson said.
