Foreman sworn in to Lauderdale County School Board

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Lauderdale County School District welcomed its newest school board member Thursday night.

Dana Foreman was sworn in during the board’s regular meeting by Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk Donna Jill Johnson.

Foreman will represent District One, filling the seat previously held by Barbara Jones, who retired earlier this year after serving more than two decades on the board.

Following Jones’ retirement, Gov. Tate Reeves ordered a special election to fill the vacancy. With Foreman as the only candidate to qualify, Lauderdale County Election Commissioners were able to declare her the winner. As a result, taxpayers were spared the cost of holding a special election on Nov. 4.

School district officials said they are honored to have Foreman join the board and look forward to her contributions.
