MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Meridian Fire Department unveiled a new 2025 Spartan Metro Star fire engine at Station 1 on Tuesday morning.
Chief Michael Evans said the truck is equipped with upgraded hoses, air packs, a new Jaws of Life, and a slightly shorter design to improve maneuverability on city streets. The $830,000 engine is part of a multi-year plan to modernize the department’s fleet, which also includes a new ladder truck scheduled to arrive in about two years.
“This ensures Meridian residents have the best fire protection possible,” Evans said. “If there’s a fire, we’re coming to put it out.”
