MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – For those trying to get ahead of the holiday travel chaos, the Meridian Regional Airport is offering a way to simplify your flying experiences.

TSA PreCheck registration or renewal will be held at the airport until Friday at 5 p.m.

PreCheck allows you to side-step TSA, typically making for a quicker process before boarding.

“It is so much easier to get it here than at another airport. It’s just easy. You walk in, have a seat, get registered, and it takes about five minutes. Then, you’re good. You should get your (Known Traveler Number) within a couple of days,” said Melissa Mathis, the Marketing Director for the Meridian Regional Airport.

Applicants are required to provide identity and citizenship documents and to pay the $76.75 application fee.

Also happening at the Meridian Regional Airport: construction on the new terminal.

That terminal is expected to be complete in the fall of 2026, providing more space and opportunities for the airport.

“It gives us an opportunity to grow. As our community grows, the airport will grow, naturally. So, we are really looking forward to having more space and opening that up to our community,” said Mathis.
