New, Larger McDonald’s Planned for Philadelphia Following December Fire

PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) — An update has been shared regarding the future of the McDonald’s location in Philadelphia following a fire that forced its evacuation on December 8, 2025, the evening of the Philadelphia Christmas Parade.

In a Facebook post, owner Stephanie Murray Coker addressed the community, acknowledging the many questions and concerns surrounding the delay in rebuilding. She explained that the reconstruction process has taken longer than anticipated but confirmed that plans are now moving forward.

According to Coker, the Philadelphia location will be replaced with a brand-new, state-of-the-art McDonald’s restaurant. The new building will be significantly larger than the previous structure. While final design plans are still being completed, the project is expected to include a new PlayPlace.

Coker expressed appreciation for the community’s continued support and patience, noting that customers remained loyal to the restaurant for years, even as it operated in a building not designed to handle its high volume of guests. She also thanked residents for the encouragement, prayers, and messages of support shared on social media following the fire.

At this time, construction timelines and an official reopening date have not been announced. Updates will be shared as progress continues, and plans for a grand reopening celebration are expected once the project nears completion.
