MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) — Residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of unused and unwanted medications during a DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back event scheduled for Saturday, April 25 in Meridian.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sam’s Club, 715 Bonita Drive.
The initiative encourages the public to turn in prescription medications that are unused, expired, lost, stolen or misused as part of an effort to prevent drug misuse and protect public safety.
Officials say proper disposal helps reduce the risk of medications being abused or falling into the wrong hands.
The take-back event is part of a nationwide effort led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. More information about additional collection sites is available at DEATakeBack.com.
