MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) — A Lamar School senior has signed a rodeo scholarship with East Mississippi Community College, where he will compete as a bull rider.
Grey Snowden will continue his rodeo career at EMCC after years of competition at the high school and youth levels.
Snowden, a member of the Mississippi High School Rodeo Association, has also participated in Legends 37 youth rodeo. Over the past two years, he has been a four-time qualifying cowboy and has competed at the professional level in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA).
Although he has wanted to be a bull rider since he was a young child, Snowden did not begin riding until age 16.
School officials believe Snowden is the first Lamar student to receive a rodeo scholarship.
