Salvation Army to Hold May 28 Ribbon Cutting for Meridian Client Choice Food Market

MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Salvation Army of Meridian and the surrounding counties will officially celebrate the renovations of its Client Choice Food Market with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 28 honoring the legacy of Eloise Hart Temple.

Although the market has already been operating for several months, Salvation Army officials said the upcoming event will show off the market’s new look to the community.

“It has been operation for the past few months, but now we’re going to have the official ribbon cutting ceremony,” said Sgt. Daniel Noland of the Salvation Army in Meridian.

Noland said the project was made possible through a generous donation from Barbara O’Neil and her family, who will attend the event to honor O’Neil’s mother, Eloise Hart Temple.

“Our donor, who gave generously, her name is Barbara O’Neil. Her and her family will be here, to honor her mother, Eloise Hart Temple,” Noland said.

The event will also showcase other improvements throughout the Salvation Army facility, including renovations to the chapel.

“It’s a good time to come in, not only see the market, but see the entire building,” Noland said.

Officials said they hope the community will take the opportunity to visit and learn more about the organization’s services and outreach efforts.

“We’re excited for the community to come out and check it out,” Noland said.

According to an event flyer, the ceremony will take place from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 28 at the Meridian Corps location at 1115 25th Ave. in Meridian. The celebration will recognize Meridian’s first Client Choice Food Market.
