NEWTON, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Looking for a new job? The Mississippi Department of Transportation is hiring. An MDOT job fair will take place Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the MDOT office in Newton.
The fair runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be held at 7759 Highway 80 West in Newton. That is MDOT’s District 5 office.

What Jobs Are Open?
MDOT is hiring for four kinds of jobs at the fair.
- Transportation infrastructure maintenance technicians.
- Specialized trades workers.
- Facilities maintenance workers.
- Engineering technicians.
For example, engineering technicians help with road building, repair, and traffic projects. That is how MDOT describes the job in its postings.
Who Can Apply?
You must be 18 or older to apply. Also, if you get hired, you will need two things. You will need a driver’s license. You will also need a Social Security card.
